Cooberrie Park

Craig has been to Cooberrie Park a couple of times now. The first time was when he wasn't able to walk yet. Plenty of bags of animal food were bought when they entered and Craig's Mum tried to encourage Craig to be brave and feed the animals himself.

Arrival had been timed so they could start with the daily introduction by the owners to some of the little zoo's animals. Aunty Annette was first to have a go at holding a snake.

The next few photos were taken with Aunty Annette's mobile phone. Craig wasn't able to hold the snake because it weighed almost as much as he did. Plus, he was definitely not interested in touching it.

Then again, Craig's Dad isn't much of a snake fan and he kept control of where its head was pointed at all times, which annoyed the snake a little bit.

Craig's Cousin Bailey was by far the most relaxed snake holder among the group. He actually had a good time posing for photos.

His bravery was rewarded with a chance to hold a cockatoo.

And he stood next to a sleepy koala.

Then, Aunty Annette (aka Ms. Moneybags) paid AUD$15 so that Bailey could actually hold a koala.

He did a great job. The koala looked very comfortable and had a look around while Bailey held it very safely.

Bailey was just about the only person willing to go anywhere near the emus. They don't look friendly.

Meanwhile, Craig's Mum was working hard at convincing Craig that feeding a little wallaby would not hurt. It was one of those animals that likes to keep your hand still so that it can eat faster. So, Craig's Mum had to pretend that she wasn't being scratched.

Eventually Craig gave it a try.

On the way out Bailey and Aunty Annette found where the baby animals are kept.

Some were very cute.

And Bailey had more fun posing for photos with animals.

It had been very hot while they walked around and Craig needed a cold drink before starting the drive back to Grandad and Grandma's place.

On the way back, they stopped at a Coffee Club just because they hadn't been to one before. This one was located right across from the main beach in Yeppoon. Great location and Craig's Mum deserved some cheesecake as a reward for all her hard work at Cooberrie Park.
