Mum's Company Trip to E-Da World 2

On the second day of the trip Graham awoke in a big comfy hotel bed, ready for a big day out!

As soon as he reached the E-Da Amusement Park, Graham found a female hand to hold. He's a bit like that.  :)

Some of the blokes in the group went on this wild, whizzing thing that almost certainly has a proper name but Craig's Dad can't be bothered looking for it. The ride looked extremely threatening to anyone on the ground in the immediate vicinity and much screaming was heard.

The next ride was just as scary.

The ride was devilishly simple but that didn't stop it frightening the wits out of some people. Craig's Dad saw some more than one young woman walk away in tears after getting off.

Lunch was taken early in a restaurant decorated in a Greek theme that served typically Taiwanese food. Graham didn't find it confusing, however.

He merely insisted on being given a menu.

Craig was too busy playing Angry Birds on Mum's phone to care about whether the restaurant's decor matched the type of food on the menu.

After Graham and Mum went back to the hotel room for an afternoon nap, Craig could eat ice cream in peace.

He really liked the ice cream and took his time eating it.

In fact, the ice cream had been purchased for the purpose of getting change to put in a squirt gun. There was a line of guns above a ride where people floating around a pre-set course in little boats, making them perfect targets to be squirted. The boys had been on one of the boats before lunch but no one was shooting from above at that time.

NT$10 purchased a minute or so of time to wind the crank and squirt the boats below.

This photo is especially good because the water coming out of the gun here hit the people in the boat in the picture. Squirting other people when they can't squirt you is great fun ...... especially when you're a kid!!  :)

Craig then spent quite a long time watching another ride where a roller coaster ride ended with a splashdown.

The splash was really big!

Then, there was a parade.

It was quite a long parade with lots of stuff going on.

Well, maybe not that much.

In amongst the machines were dancers.

The video doesn't do them justice. They were actually quite entertaining.

Some of the parade involved nothing more than foreign men and women in orange jumpsuits walking next to machines but you don't see much of that in our neighborhood at home.

So Craig stayed and watched the whole parade quite happily.

But, as soon as the parade had finished he wanted to go back and watch the roller coaster splashdown again.

It was worth watching more than once.

Then there was a dance show. Graham and Mum had returned just in time to see it but it didn't hold the interest of most little kids in attendance, including Graham.

There were some indoor attractions including smaller rides for small kids but Graham was too small for some of them.

Walking from the amusement park back to the hotel was done easily. The easiest route was through a shopping mall. On top of the mall was a Ferris wheel.

The view on the way up was interesting.

You could see the up-market Crowne Plaza Hotel on one side.

And, stretching out behind it was the expensive residential district.

Craig started to get a bit nervous near the top.

The view from the top was a bit disconcerting. The hotel they were staying in looked rather small from that height.

You could see relatively empty countryside in almost every direction which emphasized what an odd place E-Da World is.

While on the Ferris wheel some photos were taken with another camera.

Some of them came out quite well.

On the way down there was an excellent view of the front of the cheaper Skylark Hotel where the boys were staying.

Mum's former company paid for a buffet dinner at the Crowne Plaza. Graham had a good time.

And Craig had plenty to eat.

The Ferris wheel looked spectacular at night.

And the Skylark Hotel looked pretty good too.

Graham must have slept very well because he was full of energy at breakfast the next morning.

Craig was more subdued but still happy.

Graham continued to be irrepresible.

Checking out was a time for photos.

After a half-hour bus ride Craig was playing a game at the High Speed Rail station.

The two boys did a paper-rock-scissors and the winner stepped forward one floor tile. First one to the end of the seats was the winner. They played twice for a 1-1 draw.

Graham preferred to mess about.

Then, Graham and Craig checked out the train that was waiting for them at the platform downstairs to take them back to good old Taipei.
