By Bicycle to Daan Forest Park

Here we have a post dedicated to the smallest member of the family. It's a shame there's no picture of Graham in the little seat on the back of the bicycle because he looks extra cute.

The ride from home to Daan Forest Park was uneventful but, upon arrival, Graham was very happy to be out of the bicycle seat. He immediatelystarted playing on his favourite slide.

This little girl took a liking to Graham and followed him around for a short time.

But after she left, Graham was happy to play by himself.

Even if some of his games looked a bit odd to an adult.

He tried out all of the rocking animals, one by one.

There's not much difference between them, though.

This concrete slide is pretty big for Graham and it has been worn smooth by millions of tiny bums.

Graham was quite good at slowing himself with his hands.

He preferred this curly slide.

And became quite adept at coming down fast.

It's a very big jungle gym.

There's plenty of different stuff to try.

And Graham had a go at almost all of it in the hour or so that he was there.

Plus, he's just the right age for most of it. For a kid his age it's challenging but far from impossible.

And, after all that running, climbing, swinging (not pictured) and sliding there was a well-deserved snack.

At Home

When the boys are at home in the evenings they are pretty good at thinking up games to play, like most children. Even cardboard boxes can be toys and are especially useful if someone is there to push.

If no one else will push, put your toy panda in and give him a ride.

This scooter belongs to Craig but after seeing his older brother ride it up and down at great speed Graham wanted to give it a go. He was a bit slower than Craig, for obvious reasons.

Trip to Hsinchu

Taiwan's High Speed Rail is a really nice way to travel, especially if a family of four only buys two tickets and then can sit on four seats because there's plenty of empty ones. fter the train ride, the boys enjoyed the open spaces at Hsinchu Station while waiting for a car to arrive to pick them up.

They were going to Mum's Friend Yating's home. Craig and Graham have been there before: earlier this year and in 2010,

There's plenty of toys to play with there.

Lunch was a crowded affair but everyone was happy.

Then Graham tried out the piano.

Graham became good friends with Yating's oldest child. She was very reliable and took good care of Graham all weekend.

There was a quick snack before going out to play.

This sand pit is in a school and the boys have been there before.

Craig is pretty good at climbing these days.

It was a perfect day to be outdoors.

Craig climbed back and forth on this thing several times.

The kids played together quite happily most of the time.

The adults could chat in peace while the kids kept themselves entertained.

After a while they moved over to a jungle gym.

Craig had a great time there.

There was plenty of stuff to climb on.

And he didn't stop climbing around for about half an hour.

Before leaving the school there was some fun on a skateboard-like contraption.

Not long before sunset everyone went for a walk around a nearby lake. Graham promptly fell asleep.

The next morning was filled with another walk. Graham decided he'd done enough walking and insisted on being carried almost all the way.

The weather was hot so cool drinks were needed.

Both boys like Yakult.

And it's no surprise that Yating's kids like it too.

It was good to get out of Taipei, even for a weekend.

Graham's Bike Ride With Dad

It was a beautiful sunny day. Craig had been packed off to kindy and Mum was working. There was no point in staying indoors so Graham was taken by bicycle to Neihu Sports Park.

He seemed to like having the jungle gym all to himself.

Especially the slide.

He could stop for a snack without any cares.

But the lack of other kids to play with meant he soon became bored and needed to move on. He found a rocking animal on the way home.

There wasn't anything else to do except pose for another photo.

It was a long ride by Graham's standards so another stop was made for some rocking just before they left the riverside park.

And a final stop was made at his favourite local park.

After arriving back home he had time to watch a movie before dinner.

His favourite, Totoro.
